About us
Driving from Kent to East Sussex to visit her terminally ill sister, Sylvia Burt, the Founder, Dawn Cockburn formed the idea of the Trust in early 2010.
Inspired by The Sara Lee Trust which provided Sylvia with reflexology during her cancer journey, and knowing nothing similar existed in Kent for the seriously ill (other than Hospice therapy help for the terminally ill), Dawn realised the need to coordinate local therapists and founded The Harmony Therapy Trust, providing the means for therapy free of charge when patients need it most!
With higher incidences of cancers, and other poor health levels here in Kent, the need for the Trust is more vital than ever.
Our vision is for "the hands of Harmony" to be able to offer therapies to those suffering from life altering illnesses wherever they live in the County of Kent.
Please note that supportive therapy does not, nor is intended to replace your medical treatment and no claims are made in any way as to outcomes other than a general sense of uplifting of spirits and emotional well being.
If you are able to help us in anyway either fundraising, volunteering or coming on board as a therapist please contact us.
Please take a few minutes to watch the following video, kindly produced for us by Justin Aggett of Justafilmaker. It will give you a better insight into how The Trust works.

Where we work -
Please note - this video is now several years old and was a representation of our work across the whole of Kent at that time. It is currently under review to update. It shows our old charity number so please refer to the top of the page for the correct one.
We regularly take on new therapists and volunteers and are thankful to them all as well as those who have given us their support in the past, but have since moved on. These changes will be reflected in the new version as soon as possible.
